Our architectural agency finalised the project for construction of a new chalet in Argentière. Unfortunately, for several reasons, the client changed the plan and decided not to build the chalet. The land is sloping (almost 4 metres of vertical drop between the highest and lowest points), and is partly occupied by a recently renovated building. After having studied the site and the requirements of the client, the architect conceived a chalet on 3 levels: on a semi-buried floor (garden level) would be 3 large bedrooms with views of the Mont Blanc mountain range, on the ground floor a garage and a single large interior space for the kitchen/dining-room/lounge, and on the upper floor (mezzanine), a large bedroom and an office. Although the conceived building had a modern appearance, the use of typical building materials of the village enables the project to fit well into the mountain context.
