DEMOLITION ET RECONSTRUCTION OF A CHALET IN CHAMONIX MONT-BLANC

Our architectural agency recently received the building permit for partial demolition and reconstruction of a chalet at Les Bois Prins, between the centre of Chamonix and the climbing wall of Les Gaillands. The architecture project required demolition of the first floor of the existing chalet, enlargement of the lower ground floor, reconstruction of the upper floor, and construction of two new semi-buried garages, using the shape of the sloped land. The project, conceived by our architects in order to satisfy the requirements of the client, has a very modern appearance, but fits into the mountain context with its aged wood and stone finish. We decided to develop the structure using metal joinery, as the client had asked for large windows and a large open-plan living space, kitchen and dining room on the upper floor.
